Where is Palmyra Atoll?

Palmyra Atoll is one of the most isolated island reef systems in the world. It lies in the central Pacific, near the International Date Line and approximately 350 nautical miles north of the equator.

Palmyra Atoll is part of a chain of islands and reefs called the northern Line Islands, along with Kingman Reef to its northwest and the Kiribati Line Islands to its south. Palmyra and Kingman are part of the Pacific Remote Islands Marine National Monument and are protected under federal law by the US Fish and Wildlife Service.
